Celerion conducts clinical research studies for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, for investigational medicines currently in research and development, to treat a wide variety of illnesses and conditions. Clinical studies in medical research or drug development are conducted to test the safety and efficacy of the investigational medicines. They serve as a testing ground for all new medicines and if approved by the country’s regulatory agency, will treat people suffering from that illness. In a clinical research study, participants are given the investigational medicine being tested. During the study, blood and other biological samples may be collected to understand how the medication impacts the body. All of the information collected from the study is then provided to scientists who study how the product impacts the human body. This information collected from the clinical study is then submitted to regulatory agencies around the world, for approval in the treatment of illnesses.
